The Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of the biggest African nations and one of the richest in terms of natural resources. However, multiple internal conflicts have led to great instability that has in turn produced a complex humanitarian crisis. The healthcare system is unable to meet the population’s needs and the frequent outbreaks of violence have produced thousands of refugees and displaced people.

We have been operating in DRC for almost 40 years, since 1977, which has allowed us to gain an in-depth understanding of the country and the capacity torespond effectively to the needs of the population.: Thus, we carry out prevention, care and nutritional support activities for thousands of malnourished children and mothers; we provide training activities on good hygiene practices and we restore wells and latrines. Additionally, we provide food and seeds and we train farmers in techniques of product cultivation and marketing. to enable populations to cope with food crises. We devote particular attention to women and children who are the victims of violence, offering psychosocial support and free healthcare; we run disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration projects for child soldiers exploited by armed groups. And finally, we support street children and young girls accused of witchcraft through child sponsorship projects.
