Emergency interventions

madre e figlio
With rapidity, efficiency, and deep knowledge of the local contexts, we are able to succeed in emergencies and help people to get back on their feet.
Our involvement with humanitarian relief and rehabilitation work in time of crisis has expanded greatly in recent years, and we have matured specific expertise and skills in this area.
When emergencies hit, whether a regional conflict or an earthquake, we are rapidly on the ground, ready to act. In Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Kosovo and many other countries, we assisted more than one million refugees and displaced persons; we provided shelter, food and medicines, rebuilt schools, homes, clinics, and water infrastructures, and supported the most vulnerable with psychological aid. In Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru, Honduras, we helped thousands of people to deal with the aftermath of earthquakes and other natural disasters. Once immediate needs are covered, we work with communities to rebuild livelihoods and reduce vulnerability to future crises.
