Ecuador. With the Ministry of Education for the protection of children and adolescents.

Quito, May 17, 2023 - COOPI ?– Cooperazione Internazionale in Ecuador held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education: Andrés Chiriboga Deputy Minister of Education Management and Doris Guamán Undersecretary for Support, Monitoring and Regulation of Education, in order to socialize COOPI's lines of action related to the integral protection of children and adolescents for the period 2023-24.

In this sense, Belén Ramos, National Coordinator, updated on the projects that the NGO carries out with its partners for humanitarian aid, development, and the construction of territories of peace in the communities of Ecuador. On the other hand, the virtual learning platform AVA, the Aula de Derechos Humanos created by COOPI together with its partner UNICEF, was presented, which has several free learning resources, such as the course on the Prevention of Maltreatment and Abuse of Children and Adolescents for their Caregivers, and the course on Human Mobility that aims to raise awareness about the human rights of people in human mobility, among others.

The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen alliances with the institution through the signing of an agreement to articulate joint actions aimed at strengthening the participation of children and adolescents in the processes of democracy and good living. In addition, courses, tools, methodologies and materials developed by COOPI for the prevention of maltreatment and abuse of children and adolescents, as well as for the promotion of hygiene with special attention to children, were made available to the Ministry.
