COOPI. New institutional video to highlight the humanitarian commitment

Milan, 24 March 2021- COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale is a humanitarian organisation present in 31 poorest countries in the world to promote a more equitable, fair and humane society. With its new institutional video, it wants to highlight an aspect of its current organisation that makes its presence in the field even more effective: the creation of five regional coordinations.

Every year, COOPI carries out hundreds of development and emergency projects to respond to the essential needs of those left behind: in recent years, Venezuelan migrants in Latin America, Iraqi and Syrian children deprived of their right to education, women survivors of violence and children subjected to armed groups in Central Africa, and many others.

The five regional coordinations - Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Central Africa, West Africa, East and Southern Africa - make COOPI's presence and work on the ground more effective, enabling it to better grasp the real needs of vulnerable populations, which have always been at the heart of the projects of the organisation founded by Father Vincenzo Barbieri.

The creation of the coordinations also allows COOPI to collaborate further with local institutions and organisations because “alone we can do so little, together we can make the world a better place".

COOPI intervenes to break the cycle of poverty and to accompany populations affected by wars, socio-economic crises or natural disasters towards recovery and sustainable development. Since 1965, COOPI has helped 100 million people by implementing 2,300 projects in 71 countries, using 4,700 expatriates and 60,000 local workers.
