LINK 2007: standing with those speaking out against the tragedy in Palestine

LINK 2007, the network that brings together 15 of Italy’s leading NGOs, including COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale, joins its voice with those in Italy and around the world who are standing up against the tragic humanitarian crisis and the suffering of the Palestinian civilian population, from children to the elderly, particularly in the Gaza Strip. The mobilizations and demonstrations in the coming days should foster awareness and collective consciousness of the ongoing tragedy, urging political leaders to take action without further delay.

We wholeheartedly embrace the words of President Sergio Mattarella and reaffirm our condemnation of the violations of international law affecting Gaza’s citizens and the obstruction of humanitarian aid provided by international organizations. Suffering, resentment, and hatred undermine both the Palestinians’ right to live in peace within secure borders and Israel’s right to security.

As a network of organizations active in international cooperation and solidarity, including in this region, LINK 2007 will continue to support initiatives aimed at defending human rights, promoting political dialogue, and pursuing a just, fair, and lasting solution that puts an end to suffering and hatred. We believe it is essential to fully uphold international law and every people’s right to exist in dignity and peace. Only through mutual respect for these principles can a just, fair, and lasting coexistence be built.
