Milan, 16th September 2022 - COOPI's historic headquarters in the Boldinasco farmhouse in Milan opens to the public for a day of meetings and initiatives for adults and children, on the occasion of the Milano Green Week and the "Cascine Aperte" event of the Cascine Milano Association. The appointment with the initiative of COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale, in its seventh edition, is on Saturday 1 October at F. De Lemene 50, in the Certosa Gallarate area.

The organisation will welcome the citizens of Milan to the spaces that have hosted it since 1969, under concession from the Milan City Council. Starting at 4.30 pm, the courtyard of the farmhouse will host a fair trade market, a workshop for children, Marco Mensa's photographic exhibition on the difficult coexistence between man and nature in Rep. Dem. of Congo, but above all a moment of discussion on the activities carried out every day in Italy and around the world by COOPI and on the aggravation of humanitarian emergencies linked to the pandemic, the climate crisis and recent conflicts.

In particular, the "Meeting Space" will open at 5 p.m. with institutional greetings by COOPI's president, Claudio Ceravolo, and the Councillor for Welfare, Health and the Environment of City Hall 8, Paolo Romano, followed by the presentation of the organisation's Annual Report, with COOPI's general Director Ennio Miccoli and the journalist Antonella Tagliabue. At 6 p.m. there will be a talk on "Food insecurity in Sub-Saharan Africa at the time of Covid and war" with Maria Sassi, lecturer at the University of Pavia in Food Economics, Agricultural Development and Quantitative Policy Analysis for Development. At 7 p.m. there will be a projection of Angelo Loy's documentary 'Conserve, Survive', in its preliminary version, on the food security project supported by the European Union in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The day will end, at 8pm, with a solidarity dinner accompanied by live music, open to everyone. The funds raised will be used to distribute food to families in need in Milan.
